Looking Forward
One of the first things a person learns when riding a bike or driving a car, where you look is where the vehicle will begin to go. Even when you know you firmly have both hands on the handlebars or steering wheel, sure of the direction you plan to go.
Isaiah 43:18 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.”
The past is done. Many times we get stuck in it, either rehashing old wounds or mistakes or reminiscing about “the good, old days.” Neither is healthful or helpful. The present is where we are at and it is a conscious decision to remain focused on it and to allow ourselves to be navigated in that direction.
Every single day is a fresh start and is a thing of beauty. Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Behold. See or observe especially something remarkable or impressive one.
When our children were young we would put them to bed with us saying with them “Thank you God for a beautiful day. I am grateful for…”
It is a challenge to not repeat the same grateful for thing each time or more than once. But that is a challenge rich in reward, helping me to see and recognize the beauty in each day.
Looking forward!
With love,
Diane
